Taylor and the Raiders Share a Laugh Over Fan’s Doll Depicting Mahomes

The Chiefs have won three of the last five Super Bowls, including one in February at Allegiant Stadium, but the Las Vegas Raiders have recently made it a point to poke them.

That continued Thursday in a since-deleted viral video that included Kermit the Frog and took a swipe at Patrick Mahomes.

Raiders fan Josh Jacopetti fashioned up a Kermit doll to look like the Chiefs quarterback, whose voice has been likened to that of the Sesame Street character, and took it to the Raiders’ training camp session. While players lined up for autographs, Kermit was given to rookie safety Trey Taylor, who placed the green person on his hand and laughed.

A Raiders fan captured footage of what transpired and shared it on social media. The Chiefs and their supporters took note.

“It’s early in the year. When questioned about the issue on Friday, Mahomes said, “Stuff like that happens.” “It’ll be dealt with when it’s time.”

Mahomes’ athletic trainer simply posted on Thursday: “We will remember.” The fan, who went by Andrew Q, expressed regret for uploading the video and apologized to Taylor.

“I msg a few creators and asked if it was bad taste,” he said to ESPN in a direct message. “I asked a few others in the company to apologize to Trey and see if he needed any charity contributions. I’m new to this, and I’ve discovered that not all viral content is excellent.”

The Raiders have refused to respond. Last season, Las Vegas defeated Kansas City on Christmas Day at Arrowhead Stadium.
